Marmalade teams up with motorpoint to launch exciting new service for young drivers

Marmalade, a leading provider of cars and insurance for young drivers, launches its innovative new Quick Quote initiative in partnership with car supermarket Motorpoint – the first service of its type to be offered by a UK car supermarket.


Drivers between the ages of 17 and 24 will now not only be able to purchase a new or nearly new car from the Motorpoint website, but will also benefit from Marmalade’s Quick Quote system. This provides an estimated cost of insurance at the click of a button and, if interested, the young driver will then be redirected to Marmalade’s site to arrange fully comprehensive cover.


Marmalade’s New Driver insurance is based on telematics technology. Black boxes are installed into the insured car to monitor journeys which in turn helps the young person to develop safe driving skills. The device measures the ABC’s; acceleration, braking, cornering and average speed. Marmalade’s black boxes also don’t have curfews or negative scoring for nightime driving, but do provide added security in case of vehicle theft.

Motorpoint offers a comprehensive range of new and nearly new low mileage cars from manufacturers such as Citroen, Ford, Hyundai, Peugeot, Renault, Vauxhall and VW.


All of the cars, which are branded ‘Young Driver Ready’, have been carefully selected, not only for their price, but also features that are particularly pertinent to young drivers such as low-running costs, road tax, good safety levels and insurance premiums. Every car is available to test drive seven days a week as well as qualifying for Motorpoint’s Same Day Driveaway Service. They are all also available to buy on finance through Motorpoint’s Personal Contract Purchase plan – Boomerang*.
