Marmalade, a leading provider of cars and insurance for young drivers, has been announced as a finalist in the British Insurance Awards Technology category following the successful launch of its Quick Quote system.

The prestigious annual awards ceremony will be hosted at The Royal Albert Hall on 6th July to celebrate the top performers and innovators in the insurance sector.

Marmalade’s in-house development team created a tool called Quick Quote which provides a guide price, accurate within £50 and gained within seconds, for Marmalade’s New Driver Insurance based on a registration number, name and age.

Quick Quote gives young people this information any time, any place, anywhere – via a clever scanning app, the mobile friendly website and insurance brokers. Marmalade has also worked closely with vehicle manufacturers and dealerships to enable the facility on their websites to offer young drivers a guide price while they browse for cars online.

Crispin Moger, CEO of Marmalade, said: “We developed Quick Quote as a tool to help young drivers understand the insurance costs when they start thinking about a car, by providing accurate and speedy costs for insurance when, and where, they need it. When buying a first car, many young drivers search for and sometimes purchase without researching he cost of insurance – partly due to the lengthy forms associated with getting an insurance quote.

“It’s great to be recognised by the British Insurance Awards for our innovative technology as this is an integral part of our business and something we continually strive to improve and develop. We’re looking forward to the awards ceremony which is a great showcase of the best in the business.”
